When turning right at an intersection,
1. check behind you in the rear view mirror
2. indicate right
3. check for safety diagonally to the right
4. keep the front right wheel 20 cm from the center line
5. slow down and turn right
Do steps 1 to 4 until you are approximately 30 meters before the intersection. 4. After pulling over to the edge of the road, continue on your way so that the right front wheel does not leave the center line or swerve to the left before turning.
At intersections without arrow markings, pass within 50 cm of the center point between the center line on your vehicle’s side and the center line of the intersecting road and turn right with your left front wheel within 50 cm of the center point.
At intersections marked with arrows, please pass the intersection with the left front wheel position in mind so that the left front wheel passes on the left side of the arrow.
When entering a priority road with a right turn, the safety check methods are
1. stop before the intersection and check the left and right sides of the road.
2. while entering the intersection, check the right and left sides of the road again and turn right.
Turn right while checking right and left again while entering the intersection. Do not forget the center point of the intersection and the position of the front left wheel.
(1) When turning right, the left front wheel is generally 2 meters or more away from the inside of the center of the intersection (diagonal to the right).
(2) When making a right turn, the right front wheel passes outside the center of the intersection (outside right). Five points will be deducted for both on-road and off-road traffic.
(1) occurs when the driver turns the wheel too soon when making a right turn. This is a shortcut.
This applies if you do not find the center point between the center line on your side of the road and the center line of the intersecting road, because the lanes are wide at the test site. Go straight toward the center point and make sure that the front left wheel passes just inside the immediate vicinity of the center point. Where there is a marker, the left front wheel should pass between the center point (zebra mark) and the arrow. The phenomenon of (2) is less common, and wobble will be applied if you miss the cutoff.
